Spotlight On Snow King Mountain: Jackson’s In-Town Resort

You may be familiar with Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, as it’s one of the most iconic ski resorts in the lower 48, but did you know Jackson is also home to Snow King? Jackson’s “locals” hill, Snow King is a favorite among locals and visitors alike, and offers varied terrain and lots of fun winter activities.

Snow King Trail Map

Skiing & Snowboarding

Snow King is right smack dab in Downtown Jackson Hole, and boasts 1,571 feet of vertical gain with 500 acres of skiable terrain! The mountain offers 6 beginner trails and 13 intermediate ski and snowboarding runs which are distinctly separated from the expert trails, making it free of expert “traffic”. 15 expert trails coupled with advanced and expert tree skiing mean there are more than enough challenges for the experienced skiers and plenty of groomed goodness for the newbies. Snow King’s brand-new, 8-passenger gondola whisks you to the top in just 5 minutes while you take in spectacular views of the Grand Tetons, the National Elk Refuge, and the town of Jackson.

Night Skiing

Keep the stoke going hours after the sun goes down! Snow King Mountain comes alive after dark with skiers and snowboarders taking advantage of this one-of-a-kind evening activity: the only night skiing available in Jackson Hole!

Night Skiing is 4:00pm – 6:30pm, Monday – Friday.  Tickets are available at all ticket booths.

Uphill Travel

Earn your turns with an uphill travel pass. Locals know that “skinning the King” is an amazing way to go skiing in Jackson Hole and stay fit. Snow King proudly offers this activity for guests to enjoy. Passes are required 24 hours a day and will be checked prior to and after operating hours.

Winter Activities

The Cowboy Coaster gives guests a new perspective as they cruise down the mountain through almost a mile of loops, curves, and hairpin turns. Descend the equivalent of a 45-story building as you take in the stunning views while you soar down the slopes with speeds close to 30 miles per hour!

The Tube Park boasts three smooth-groomed lanes and a rope tow to take you back up the hill for some true family fun! Link together to enjoy the experience as a group, or challenge your friends to an old-fashioned race down the hill and see who comes out as King of the Mountain!

You can literally see the runs of Snow King from Ranch Inn, and the bus stop is steps from our doors for the quick 5 minute ride to the base. Be sure you book some time at Snow King during your next stay!
